Why does the PTSA conduct fundraising activities?
Our PTSA is an independent non-profit organization with a mission to enhance and support the educational programs and environment at Serene Lake Elementary. To provide the support to our school and children we need to raise money! In order to raise the funds to continue these programs the PTSA conducts a variety of fundraisers.
What Fundraisers can I expect this year?
The Serene Lake PTSA direct fundraisers for 2016-17 are scheduled to be the Fall Fund Run (SLE Olympic Games), Cherrydale Product Fundraiser, Dinner Nights Out at local restaurants and a few others. Programs like Otter Spirit wear, Box Tops for Education, Campbell Soup labels, Fred Meyers Rewards Program, Red Robin Royalty Program, AmazonSmile and eScrip, are passive fundraisers that allow participants to “invisibly” raise funds for the school.
Where Does My Support Go?
The PTSA raises funds for programs, equipment, classroom supplies and district “gap” funding each year that benefit our students.
29% - Academic Enrichment: Reflections Arts Program, Spelling Bee, Math Bee, School Assemblies, Science Night, Alumni Scholarships, Mukilteo Foundation Funding, Field Day, etc.
23% - Classroom/Teacher Support: Teacher Request Funding, Classroom Aid, Book Fair, Staff Appreciation, etc.
21% - Events and Activities: Carnival, Back to School BBQ, Harvest Party, Fun Run, Bingo Night, Family Dance, Movie Night, etc.
18% - Community Programs: Adopt-a-Plot, Book Club, O.W.L., Food Drive, Toy Drive, Vision Screening, Book Exchange Night, etc.
6% - Awards and Education: Volunteer Recognition, Community Partners, Convention basket, PTA Leadership Training.
3% - Communication: Student Directory, Printing, Newsletter, Website, etc.
